This text presents casing design and mechanics in a concise, two-part format. The first part focuses on basic casing design and instructs engineers and engineering students how to design a safe casing string. The second part covers more advanced material and special problems in casing design in a user-friendly format. In an explanation of the origin of casing design, applications and limitations of the methods and formulas are presented, giving readers an understanding of how to use these tools in their own jobs - and when NOT to use them. The book also provides a consistent and systematic foundation aimed at understanding literature and software applying to casing design and oilfield tubulars.
 

Bernt S. Aadnoy is a Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Stavanger in Norway. He started in the oil industry as a trainee for Phillips Petroleum in Odessa, Texas in 1978.  He later worked  for Phillips Ekofisk operations in Norway.  In 1980 he started working for Rogaland Research where he mainly built a full scale offshore drilling rig for research purposes. This facility called Ullrigg still carries out research both in well technology and in rig automation.  Dr. Aadnoy worked for Statoil and Saga Petroleum and entered his present position in 1994.  He developed the common Well Design Manual for the Norwegian oil companies, which also led to the book Modern Well design in 1996. He has performed consultancy work for many oil companies, including being an advisor for the Petroleum Safety Authority. In the period 1998-2003 he was adjunct Professor at the University of the Faroe Islands where he built a petroleum engineering program aimed at the coming deep water exploration activities.
This is very valuable book to have and to share for/with Petroleum Engineers and Geologist, Field Engineer also who want to know more of the Wireline Company for the product and services in Oll and Gas production. This book gained a lot of information in Cased Hole reservoir with clear explanation for tool specification and adventages.

A lot of the adventages that we can get and share beside Formation Evaluation, Wellbore Integrity , Production Log subject with our time for best practices in oil field.
