Subsurface mapping is a way to visualize various geologic and
hydrologic features in any dimension from a 1-D cross section to a
4-D production map. All subsurface map types can be useful, but the
key is to know what you are investigating and what map types are
most appropriate.
This new book introduces different types of geophysical logs and
subsurface maps that can be generated from basic well data, and
subsurface problems that can be solved using geophysical logs and
subsurface maps. "Hands-on" exercises reveal how each map type is
generated and what applications they may have. Exercises at the end
of each chapter introduce different types of wells and lithologies. |

An update of the
PennWell classic nontechnical guide to logging techniques, this text
provides an easy to understand overview of the technically complex
subject of well logging.
This text provides an easy-to-understand overview of the technically
complex subject of well logging. This book will be very useful to
bankers, landmen, geology and engineering technicians, clerks,
secretaries, and others who need a basic understanding of well logs
to perform their jobs.
Features & Benefits
Use as a handy quick reference for simple interpretation of logs
Read each self-contained chapter as the subjects come up in your
business life
Use it as a nontechnical encyclopedia
Make better decisions based on an a basic understanding of well logs |
|
Basic Well Log Analysis is a general introduction to
common openhole logging measurements, both wire line and MWD/LWD,
and the interpretation of those measurements to determine the
traditional analytical goals of porosity, fluid saturation, and
lithology/mineralogy. It is arranged by the interpretation goals of
the data, rather than by the underlying physics of the measurements.
The accompanying CD-ROM contains digital versions of the data from
the case studies, a summary guide to the measurements and their
interpretation, and a simple spreadsheet containing some of the more
common interpretation algorithms.
This Second Edition of Basic Well Log Analysis delivers a great
impact on training and self-training along with superior workbook
exercises, newer measurements, borehole imaging, and nuclear
magnetic resonance in separate chapters, all directed to provide a
guide through the lengthy and sometimes ambiguous terminology of
well logging and petrophysics. It provides readers with
interpretation examples (and solutions) so that the techniques
described here can be practiced. |
|
This second edition surveys the science of petroleum
geology. It describes the generation, migration, and entrapment of
oil and gas, and outlines the procedures used in their location,
evaluation, and production. The topics, appropriate for the geology
student (and cyber-cadet seeking abiogenic petroleum anywhere in the
universe), include requisite basic material from the fields of
petroleum engineering and geophysics. The eight colour plates are
packed with useful information. |

|
This is very valuable book to have and to
share for/with Petroleum Engineers and Geologist, Field
Engineer also who want to know more of the Wireline
Company for the product and services in Oll and Gas
production. This book gained a lot of information in
Cased Hole reservoir with clear explanation for tool
specification and advantages.
A lot of the advantages that we can
get and share beside Formation Evaluation, Wellbore
Integrity , Production Log subject with our time for
best practices in oil field.
The other side that will help PE for
reference of solution and make decision if they have
kind of well problem in Cased Hole well. |

This hand guide in the Gulf Drilling Guides series
offers practical techniques that are valuable to petrophysicists and
engineers in their day-to-day jobs. Based on the author's many years
of experience working in oil companies around the world, this guide
is a comprehensive collection of techniques and rules of thumb that
work.
There are chapters on NMR logging, core analysis, sampling, and
interpretation of the data to give the engineer a full picture of
the formation. There is no other single guide like this, covering
all aspects of well logging and formation evaluation, completely
updated with the latest techniques and applications. |
